Company Information and History

Anderson, Randles & Associates is a consulting company specializing in newspaper
circulation marketing and distribution, readership acquisition, reader retention, and
management training and development.


As the business grew, Don Michel joined the company as a consultant in 1999 and Phil
Hanna in 2001, with both becoming partners in the firm.

Ron Anderson retired from the company in 2002.  Rich Randles was its president before
retiring due to health reasons in 2004.   


Prior to his death, Randles expressed his strong desire that the business that he loved
and that he worked so hard to build would carry on and would continue to grow.

Don Michel was elected as the president of Anderson, Randles & Associates after
Randles’ retirement in 2004 and Phil Hanna was elected as Vice-President.

Michel and Hanna each have in excess of 30 years of circulation experience.  Michel
works out of his office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Hanna out of Newnan, Georgia.  

Anderson, Randles & Associates has provided services to more than 200 newspapers
since incorporating in September 1997.

CIRCULATION DEPARTMENT ANALYSIS

We can conduct an on-site assessment of your entire circulation operation, including:
circulation trends, department structure, financials, staffing, marketing programs, billing,
retention, pricing, service, single copy, NIE, and more. This process usually takes 2-4
days and is followed with a detailed report of findings and recommendations. Hundreds

We can provide excellent circulation training for Circulation Directors, District Managers,
Single Copy Manager or the Customer Service staff to help them become more
successfully in their jobs.  Workshops are also available for circulation sales, retention,
newsroom/circulation marketing and other topics of your choice.  We tailor workshop
content to fit your needs and desires.  Training can be arranged right at your newspaper or
